Ergonomics in Dental Practice
Dentists are at high risk for musculoskeletal disorder due to the nature of their work.
The key to preventing work-related musculoskeletal disorder is ergonomics – the science of configuring the working environment to the worker.
For example, the EURUS doctor table is supported by a flexible arm, which can be moved with 50 percent less force than previous models. Therefore, dentists can easily move it without any stress on their arm, shoulder or neck.
Dentistry offers a valuable lifestyle choice in which people can enjoy a healthy oral environment throughout their life.
At Takara Belmont, we are always ready to support dentists and dental professionals by designing the ultimate treatment environment. We ensure your practice is coordinated with the right dental equipment so you can invite patients with dental challenges, and even those with healthy teeth, to learn more about preventive oral care.
For example, our leg-folding chair means patients can easily take a seat just as if they’re sitting on a chair at home. This creates a more comfortable, stress-free setting for the patient. Takara Belmont is the first company to manufacture a leg-folding chair in Japan.
Patient-friendly leg-folding chair
Comfort is paramount for every patient during their dental treatment, yet it’s especially important for children, the elderly and patients in wheelchairs. The leg-folding chair accommodates patients of all ages and needs, and it presents many advantages for the dentist and patient during a range of procedures. For example: by folding and positioning the client in a seated position, it allows for treatments that require a frontal approach, such as orthodontics, while treating elderly patients without having to lower the backrest down too far and avoiding unnecessary stress.
with the base-mounted doctor table
Belmont’s base-mounted doctor table is an innovative installation method designed to alleviate patient anxiety while ensuring functional convenience for the dentist. It positions the handpieces out of the patient’s view when they sit down, and during their procedure. This design eliminates the need to rest handpieces on the patient’s chest, which also alleviates stress and reduces anxiety.
The PRECIA (available in Japan and some overseas regions), is designed to make handpieces completely invisible to the patient. This patient-friendly system creates an entirely different treatment experience, as it allows the patient to sit from the front without having to move the table back, or prepare the handpieces in view while the dentist is consulting, for example. As the dental unit doesn’t look or feel like a dental unit, patients are less apprehensive and more at ease during their entire procedure.
As a company advocating the true meaning and value of “Health and Beauty”, we respond to the demands of dentists by designing your treatment space, developing innovative products and services, and supporting dentists and patients to achieve and maintain healthy teeth.

Made by Hand and Mind, in Japan
A Century in the making, we design and manufacture every piece of every chair, unit, light and x-ray unit that we deliver to the market.
Therefore, the provenance of our products is unquestionable. Their high quality is maintained by the familiarity of an expert eye, hand and mind that comes from our loyal, highly trained and experienced workforce.
In 1921 in Osaka, Japan, Takara Belmont started manufacturing casting metals for chairs.
As we look to the future, we are fully committed to advancing our expertise. We achieve this by continually innovating and introducing advanced manufacturing facilities and efficient production systems in response to changing times and evolving technologies, and in anticipation of the emerging expectations of dentists and patients. This approach ensures we produce high-quality, innovative products anchored in unrivalled reliability and complete safety.
Cell Production Systems
We effectively employ a line production system and a cell production system that our assembly team are expertly capable of adopting. Each assembly worker proudly applies a label showing exactly who assembled the product.
Upholstery Processing Technique
In response to customer demand, our highly trained upholsterers handcraft each chair by using a state-of-the-art staple gun and pressing machine.
To provide high quality products to all customers, we conduct a thorough inspection of electrical systems and all equipment functions before shipping our products to you.
We process a broad range of components – from cylinders and ram shafts – to many precision components by ourselves. Core components are inspected for dimensional accuracy to micro-meter levels.
Durability testing is vital to the development of Belmont equipment. All products and components undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet our stringent performance standards. As just one example, valves undergo cycle testing for up to one million actuations before they are approved for use.
Quality Starts Within
Each Belmont chair is the result of more than 50 years of product research and development, meticulous engineering expertise and innovative production methods. Belmont hydraulic dental chairs are world renowned for providing reliable long-term performance for operators, as well as providing a smooth comfortable seat motion that minimizes patient stress and anxiety as they are gently manoeuvred into the treatment position.
Realisation of Natural Light
LED dental lights reproduce natural light. By placing LED bulbs in a circular pattern, our LED lights emit natural light via high colour rendering for optimal performance. This is essential for correct tooth shade matching and to differentiate soft tissue.
Safety and Reliability
Reliability is based on strict inspection standards and user-friendly design, such as our easy-to-understand operation panel, smooth arm movement and easy to position compact tube head. These unique features have earned us a worldwide reputation for quality and dependability.
